One of the absolutely cleanest tunnel motors I've ever seen, Chuck caught DRGW 5362 at Fraser, CO, just a month after it was built (built Jul-1975, photographed Aug-1975).

Just east of Fraser, CO, GP40-2 3096 leads GP40 3058, GP40-2 3093, and nearly-new SD40T-2 5364 as they throttle up for the climb up the 2% grade with an eastbound in August 1975.

At the same trestle seen in 2 and 3, (over Elk Creek Road) we see the rear of the 3096E with a pair of cabooses, both in the four stripe scheme. This one is obviously the 01409. Note that the other still has friction bearing trucks.

A bit further west, SD45s DRGW 5315 and 5320 take the siding at East Tabernash during August of 1974. Here they'll meet an eastbound manifest and #18, the Rio Grande Zephyr before continuing west.

Not long after the passage of the 3123, the Zephyr swings around the curve at Tabernash as it dashes towards the Moffat Tunnel and Denver beyond as seen in August of 1974.
