While at first glance I thought they were Blomberg trucks, they're not. They're apparently a new design, designed to accommodate the GE AC traction motors in a B truck. (They look a bit like a seriously improved version of GE's FB2 truck to me.)

I couldn't resist - I grew up seeing 3-4 BN SD40-2s on pretty much everything moving, and it's a little sad to see these engines disappearing. BNSF 1914 is the first relatively pure BN SD40-2 I've seen in some time. Really the only thing that's changed
