Information on Contributing
I greatly appreciated the time and effort people take to contribute to this site. The
information contained below should help you if you are interested in becoming a contributor
to this site.
What I Am Looking For
I really need older pictures of Metra equipment. This includes the E8's in both Metra
and Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) paint. I also would really like images of
the Burlington Northern E9's. Additionally, any of the F40PH(-2)'s or switchers in RTA
paint would be great. And if anyone would like to contribute images of the F40C's in
their original numbers and paint scheme I'd really appreciate it. Also, I'm really
interested in using images of Metra trains in unusual places (off the Metra system), in
a place they are no longer used, in a state other than Illinois (or Kenosha, Wisconsin),
etc. I'm also looking for roster shots of stainless steel cars with an RTA sign on them
(where the Metra sign currently is).
If You Don't Have Images Of Any Of These...
...No problem. I'd still be happy to use images you might have of current Metra trains.
My main interest is locomotives, but I'd be glad to use images of cab cars leading. I'm
trying to limit having too many roster shots of current coaches and cab-coaches, but if
you have a few you'd like to send to me (especially those Metra has sold off and are now in
use by other railroads), go right ahead.
Predecessor Equipment
If you have images of Chicago commuter
railroads prior to the creation and takeover of the Regional Transportation Authority and
Metra, I may be able to use them as well. The restriction that I will put on them is that
the train must be using bilevel cars. So if you have Chicago & North Western,
Milwaukee Road, Burlington (Northern), Illinois Central, or Rock Island commuter train
images with bilevel cars, I'd be happy to use them. Please note, any C&NW images
that I receive, I will want to use on my C&NW site as well so expect me to ask you if
it is ok to do so.
Sending Me Images
I really prefer to get images via e-mail. They can be prints or slides that have been
scanned, or digital images taken with a digital camera. If you don't have a digital
camera and don't have access to a scanner, you can mail them to me and I can scan them myself
(prints only, sorry no slides). If you send me images, please keep the following in mind:
although I try, I can't always use every image sent to me, sorry. If there is anything
obscene in it (such as graffiti with bad language), I will not use it. Also, any image I
use of an ex-C&NW car is also automatically available from my C&NW site. So, if
you still want to contribute after I made you read this whole thing, e-mail me at
f40c@drgw.net. Please e-mail me before sending images
and be sure to include that you want to contribute to my Metra site (I receive e-mails
about contributors for my C&NW site too). Thank you in advance for any images you
send and thanks for taking the time to read this!
