Rolling in about 1030h after contesting with a flat tire, I found about 14 railfans and one MNYPUX waiting for me.

This was the motley bunch of attendees for the Second Joint Line Meet. Thanks to Timothy Tonge for the photo.

As it was cold and traffic was a bit slow, most everybody was gone by noon. A few of us stuck it out when we heard this one blow for the Greenland grade crossing. Yes, that's BNSF 4041 on the front, one of the new AC4400CWs.

Trailing along behind 4041 is this odd visitor - Norfolk Souther 9546, probably paying back horsepower-hours.

As an extra surprise, two SD40-2s (BNSF 6821 and BNSF 6711) had been tacked on to the rear as pushers. With the widespread use of DPU, this is a much less common occurance. Here, the two are about to clear the switch to await a light back to Big Lift.

One additional item of note was this brand-new, 250 ft. long concrete switch, awaiting installation as part of a concrete tie track rehabilitation project that was to start on Monday.

After lunch, Gus offered to let us ride in his ex-SP MT19 speeder on the so-called Colorado Springs & Eastern, a small privately-owned chunk of the ex-Rock Island main between Powers and Murry in Colorado Springs.
