2014 Week 5: Feb 02 - Feb 08A freshly built D&RG 1075, the last of the Class 458 (later L-95), sits outside the Alco plant in Schenectady, NY, in 1913. Note the jacketing over most of the piping, and its distinctive color. While no color photos exist from that era, the color is almost certainly the bluish Russian Iron typical of boiler jackets of that vintage. I found this negative while cleaning my desk yesterday and thought it would make a great PotW.
