D&RG / D&RGW Sonora Branch History

Sonora Branch Facts
From: Southern Jct, CO
To: Sonora, CO
Miles: 4.2
Built: ???
Abdn: ~1947

The Sonora Branch existed as a westward short stub from the 1911 joint D&RG-C&S line that south from Pueblo to Trinidad. It existed roughly where the I-25 Stem Beach road crosses the railroad today. I have little information on the branch, other than it was abandoned sometime between 1944 and 1947.
