Round Hill, CO

Round Hill was a water stop on the Valley Line between Mears Jct and Alamosa. It was equipped with a standard Rio Grande 50000 gallon wooden water tank.

Round Hill Tank Today

Today, the base of the Round Hill tank remains at the site, and can be seen to the east of US Highway 285 (but is on private property).

The tank itself (floor, slats & roof) was purchased by a Salida doctor in the late 1960s and moved up to the Monarch Pass area, where it was rebuilt as a cabin.1
