The Madge Quarry was the first rock quarry opened near Castle Rock, CO. Started in 1872 by Silas Madge, it was connected to the D&RG's Denver-Pueblo Main in 1881 via a 2.6 mile narrow gauge branch extending east at Douglas. The route was standard gauged in 1900, but abandoned only two years later.
