Hagerman Pass

Hagerman Pass is an 11939 ft. pass between Leadville, CO?, and Aspen, CO?. The Colorado Midland Railway built through the pass in 1887 by way of the Hagerman Tunnel. Due to the operational challenges of such a high crossing, particularly in the winter months, the railway eventually opted to build a new, lower crossing - the Busk-Ivanhoe Tunnel - which entered service in 1893.

The Colorado Midland line was abandoned in 1921.
