Dave & Mike,

In looking at the artwork / scans of the Accurail offering shown by Steve S=
equine's
posting, the paint scheme is not at all suitable for the 1915 point in time=
and would have
to be completely repainted into a much simpler scheme, that is, no heralds =
or logos.
The cars were indeed lettered D. & R. G. in about what I would I guess wer=
e 12" high
letters on the left side of the car while the car number was placed on the =
right hand side.

For what it is worth, the very ornate Denver & Rio Grande Western logo / he=
rald was
in use from circa 1922 thru 1926. The D&RGW "Royal Gorge" herald from 1926=
thru
1936, and the Rio Grande "Royal Gorge / Moffat Tunnel circa 1936 thru 1945=
. The
streamlined Rio Grande came into use in1939.

Also, for the 1915 era, these cars would ride on arch bar trucks and have w=
ood ends.

That said, I am looking forward to seeing these cars when they come out as =
I'd like
to convert a couple of them into the yard cabooses 01320 thru 01325 in use =
from
1964 thru 1973. (am curious what kind of ends the model will have, wood or=
steel)

John T.
