| Subject: [DRGW] Re: Rio Grande Modeling & Historical Society|
I noted with interest your posting on the DRGW Yayoo Group site of your new position as president of the RGM&HS but have seen no such notice on either the RGM&HS Yahoo site or any other official pueblication. I have been a RGM&HS member since the very beginning and was wondering what mechanism the society is currently using to elect/select new officers. Certainly the general members are not a part of this procedure. The last notice I had seen in the Prospector indicated that the society had degenerated down to only one officer, the treasurer, Frank Keller, and was in financial trouble. I had been asked if I would serve on the board by the previous president but when I said that I would certainly consider it, but would need to fully understand how the society worked and would need to see a current financial report, the conversations went suddenly dead.
This is not meant to be a challenge to your stepping in, but merely a show of interest on learning of how the society works and how we can participate and help.
I very much appreciate and enjoy the "Prospector" which has been a quality publication. On the flip side, the "Grennlight" publication in my personal opinion contributes very little, is erratic and could be easily elimianted to reduce costs.
