Hello. My name is Brad Logan and I am the co-webmaster of cnw@drgw.net. I have been a contributor since the site was created in September 1998 and I became the co-webmaster in March 1999. Probably about 50% of the pictures on this site were taken by me from August 1996 to today. I am a college student in the Chicago area. You can e-mail me at f40c@drgw.net.
I have always had an interest in the North Western. When I was little, my dad and my grandpa would take me up to the CNW mainline tracks to see trains go by. I always loved seeing the green and yellow engines. I first rode on a train when I was 2. It was a Regional Transportation Authority CNW/West Line train, with cars still in CNW paint. I first got a subscription to Trains magazine when I was 6. After losing interest in trains at 14, I cancelled it. When my enthusiam was rejunivated, I renewed when I was 17.
Along with North Western, I also have an interest in Metra. I have traveled over nearly the entire Metra system. In fact, there is probably less than 50 miles that I haven't been on. This also contributes to where I got my screen name from, F40C. For those of you who don't know, F40C is a locomotive model unique to Metra. There is no mistaking it. It looks similar to Santa Fe's and Milwaukee Road's FP45's and Amtrak's SDP40F's, but the F40C has stainless steel panels on the sides. It is also the only locomotive model I have successfully photographed every unit ever built. They are Metra 600-614. 600-612 were built for the North West Suburban Mass Transit District as their 40-52. They carried Milwaukee Road logos, and today still have their NWSMTD logos on them. 613 & 614 were built for the North Suburban Mass Transit District as their 53 & 54. All currently run on Metra's Milwaukee District North and West Lines, although Metra will be replacing them in 2000.
I also have a Metra website. You can visit my Metra Photo Archive http://www.drgw.net/~f40c.
If you are thinking of contributing to our site, please contact Dan (cabbage@drgw.net). He is in charge of that. If you send me pictures, I will be unable to do anything with them. I will be happy to answer questions on the North Western or the site to the best of my ability if you e-mail me though.
One last thing. I am not liable for anything on this website. If you have any legal questions, those should be directed to Dan (cabbage@drgw.net). Please don't take my pictures and use them on another site. If I find anyone doing that, I'm going to put my name on top of the locomotives. So don't ruin it for everyone. You can take them for personal uses if you want, like putting them on your desktop, a report for school/work, to hang on your wall, or just to keep on file. If you want to publish them in a magazine, book, or calender please contact me. In most cases I can provide a print. Thanks.
